Mound Road Access Point: When the water level is drawn down, this is the best area on the lake for shorebirds. There is also an Osprey nesting platform in the area. This area is not shown on the park map but can be accessed by SR-380 south from Roxanna-New Burlington Road. After 1.30 miles, continue straight onto Mound Road. At the end of the road, go past the road closed sign to the next parking area.
Haines Road Boat Ramp: This boat ramp gives you almost the same view of the lake as Mound Road Access Point. It is good for shorebirds as well as ducks and gulls.
Harveysburg Road: This is one of the best areas to scan for waterfowl during the late fall, winter, and early spring. You will need a spotting scope to get a good look at waterfowl from this location.
Caesar Creek Beach: The beach attracts many migrant gulls and terns. Scan the beach carefully during the fall and spring. This area has also attracted some shorebirds in the past.
Furnas Shores Boat Ramp: This is another location to scan for waterfowl during the winter months. A spotting scope is again necessary.
Restored Wetland: This small wetland can attract dabbling ducks and some shorebirds. Soras can also be found in the wetland.
